Roman Woman: Everyday Life in Hadrian's Britain by Lindsay Allason-Jones (, Trade Paperback). Lindsay Allason-Jones. Lindsay Allason-Jones, OBE, FSA, FSA Scot is a British archaeologist and museum professional specialising in Roman material culture, Hadrian's Wall, Roman Britain, and the presence and role of women in the Roman Empire. She is currently a Visiting Fellow at Newcastle University. Specific topics are dealt with in a very systematic manner that more often than not cites the writings of ancient writers on the subject, as well as some of the techniques and technology that would have been available to women in ancient Britain. Allason-Jones, who is an archaeologist herself, also evaluates some of the recent findings and interpretations of other archaeologists who are also working in the field of Romano-British archaeology, adding yet another valuable layer to her analysis.
