She has taken me on many a ride with well constructed stories and unique characters. In Under the Surface, she gave us a conflicted undercover cop and an owner of an up and coming club. Due to a money laundering scheme the main characters, Matt and Eve, have been brought together under tricky circumstances.

Our Review. I was excited to read UNDER THE SURFACE, a new contemporary romance by Anne Calhoun. It did not disappoint! While it took a few chapters to get invested in the story, after that point I found myself picking up the book whenever I had a spare moment, wanting to see what would be next for Eve and Matt or should we call him Chad?. Under the Surface is an apt title for this suspenseful, dramatic, and sexy romance seething with emotional undercurrents. Eve is in a spot of trouble. Her bar, her pride and joy, borders on the wrong side of the tracks, so to speak. It's a place with, as the title suggests, lots of eye candy. Under The Surface: An Alpha Ops Novel by Anne Calhoun.
